Through his leadership, he strengthened his dominance of the Latin music industry, forged from experiences such as overseeing Universal Music's operations in the United States, Argentina, Chile, and Spain. Billboard recently named Walter Kolm as one of the 'Most Powerful International Executives.'

He led Billboard's annual 'Latin Power Player' list in 2018 and was titled Executive of the Year. In 2012 he founded WK Entertainment, one of the most influential companies dedicated to the management of Latin artists worldwide, and in 2020 he founded WK Records. Both companies are based in Miami, with offices in Spain and Mexico.
